Escape Game Rijksmuseum: The Secret Formula
It is long past closing time……
During this thrilling adventure, you will be taken through the entire museum. In a group of 2 – 5 people you will get to work as an investigator. Will you be able to find the secret formula and ensure its safety? Only few will reach the finish line. Don’t miss the opportunity; the game only runs this summer! (July 11th– September 2nd)




Royal Palace Dam square

Did you know the palace is open to public on a regular basis? Grab your chance and pay a royal visit this summer. Admire this beautiful building and learn about its history. Two exciting audio tours will guide you through the palace. Children from 6-8 years old will be accompanied by Prince Louis, son of King Lodewijk Napoleon. Older children by Jacob, the mayor’s son in 1642. (Not for the faint of heart….)

Bounz
Fancy endless jumping? Between July 20ndand September 2nd, you can bounz every day on the trampolines at Bounz Amsterdam. Buy a special summer card for €25 and become a professional jumper. Amsterdamse Bos
There is an enchanted forest in Amsterdam. And it wouldn’t be the Netherlands if there wasn’t any water. A fantastic water playground in the Big Pond (Grote Vijver) is a recipe for the best summer’s day ever! Several small islands are connected by rope bridges and nets. You can build rafts, swim and bath in the sun or just chill out. What more could you need for a great day out!
The Islands are located at the Duizendmeterweg, next to the open air theatre.

Amsterdam Museum- little Orphanage (3+)
Did you know the Amsterdam Museum used to be the City Orphanage for 400 years? In the Little Orphanage (Het Kleine Weeshuis) children and their parents can discover together what life was like in the 17th-century orphanage. Learn about what life was like in a 17th-century orphanage.. See dining rooms, dormitories, classrooms, kitchens, a crude toilet and even a cattle shed! The youngest visitors to The Little Orphanage discover animals hidden along the way and children over the age of seven befriend the little orphan boy Jurriaan (avilable in Dutch and English, French written text). 



Junior Jewish Historic Museum
One of the nicest museum especially for children. Get to know the Hollander Family in their own home and learn about their customs.
This summer’s theme is the Dutch Royal Family so undoubtedly you will see some orange. Let’s do crafts and build your own pop up palace (Wednesday July 25th , August 8th and 22nd between 13.00 and 15.30). Hungry? Bake a royal kosher cake with orange icing.(Wednesday August 1th, 15th and 29th between 14.00 and 15.30).



Martitime Museum, Tale of the Whale
Fascinated by whales? Set sail to the Scheepvaartmuseum this summer and learn about this amazing animal and the importance of clean, plastic free oceans. Open between July 14thand September 2nd,  come and join us for everything! From theatre to family tours, fishing plastic to dancing and yoga plus a chance to get your SOS first aid dolphin diploma and many more awesome things to do. Don’t forget your picnic hamper for lunch by the water side.




Ferry-service Amsterdam
A must see just outside of Amsterdam. Hop on one of the historic ships and set sail to either the fortress island Pampus or the Castle Muiderslot. Departure from Amsterdam IJburg.

Tale of the Whale at Zaans Museum
Did you know that during the 17th century rather a lot of whale lard was processed in the Dutch Zaanstreek? Hop on the train or bus and learn all about it.
We cross the Amsterdam border on the northside and make our way to the Zaans Museum in Zaandam. From July 12th - September 2nd many exciting activities are organized around sustainability and protection of our environment, illustrated by the history of whale fishing. Cycle the whale tour ( 8+), do the whale treasure hunt or make your own whale out of crafts material. PS:don't forget to check out the real dutch windmills, the ticket includes a visit to this Zaanse Schans.

Summer holidays in the Tropenmuseum
A personal favourite. Celebrate the summer and visit the Tropenmuseum between July 14th and September 2nd. If only for the beauty of this building you have to visit the Tropenmuseum. Super cool, creative and eductional activities 7 days a week. Make your own squishy, make piñata like they do in Mexico or a redordatorio like they do in Ecuador. Book your family plane ticket to Marocco and learn how to make (and eat) a real Maroccan couscous on Fridays. Most activities are free of charge. A museum entrance ticket is obligatory. A definite must.


Junior Canal Festival
A permanent part of the famous Canal Festival (Grachtenfestival) at different locations in Amsterdam. Through storytelling, theatre, games and workshops, children are introduced to the world of classical music. Attend one of the family performances and enjoy Flamenco music and dance, opera (with cows!), the Carnival of the Animals and much more. An unforgettable experience!

Sports and Fun
Ready for some fun?! In the last week of the summer holidays, on Wednesday August 29th, children between 6 and 12 can join the Sport and Fun tour at the “De Mirandabad.” Adult supervision is compulsory.
